Aprilia RS 125 Wins Motorcycle Design Award February 17, 2006
Chosen as the most attractive bike by the 120 professionals that make up the Motorcycle Design Association, the Aprilia RS 125 conquered the coveted acknowledgement that crowns the winner of the best design achievement in the world of two wheels. The Motorcycle Design Award was given to our motorcycle for the Junior Category, reserved for those bikes with less than 200 cc. The nominations were carried out by a secret vote cast by the MDA’s best designers under the supervision of a jury of highly esteemed industry professionals.
A relieving affirmation for Aprilia’s 125cc, designed by Renzo Ferracin and inspired by the RSV 1000 R. It’s powerful in its absolute racing style with a great frame, dome, tale, and new circle and crossed spokes detail that combine for an extremely aggressive and professional look, an immediately recognizable and extremely personalized line.
A particularly significant prize that is put forth by the Motorcycle Design Association. Founded in 2001, it is based on a Francois-Marie Dumas and Glynn Kerr initiative that propels the association to advance its goal of creating a meeting point between designers of every nationality and promoting their activity by facilitating contact between designers, potential clients, schools, and the motorcycling industry.
The MDA grants the Motorcycle Design Trophies every year to the best motorcycle design examples in the subdivided categories of Supersport, Open, Junior, Scooter, and Concept Bike.
