Australian Superbike: Dates for 2007 Australian Superbike Championship confirmed November 17, 2006

The dates and locations for the 2007 Australian Superbike Championship are now in place with the eight-round series to be competed over six weekends in 2007.

The championship series will begin in February and kick off at Eastern Creek Raceway in New South Wales , and will conclude mid-August with the final round also being staged at Eastern Creek.

Both Victoria ’s Winton Raceway and Queensland ’s Queensland Raceway will stage double rounds of the series with South Australia and Tasmania being the other states which will host a round of next year’s action.

The double rounds will take place over four days, with each Saturday and Sunday of the schedule being treated as a separate round.

While the calendar is still provisional until AUSCO receives written confirmation from each of the venues that the dates are locked in for 2007, it is unexpected to change.

The following is the calendar scheduled for the 2007 Australian Superbike Championship:

Round 1:         February 16-18, Eastern Creek Raceway NSW
Round 2-3:      March 22-25, Winton Raceway , Victoria
Round 4:         April 20-22, Mallala Raceway , South Australia
Round 5:         May 18-20, Symmons Plains Raceway, Tasmania .
Round 6-7:      June 28-July 1, Queensland Raceway, Queensland .
Round 8:         August 17-19, Eastern Creek Raceway, NSW (Series Final)
