Bemisderfer snags Thunderbike Win at rain-soaked V.I.R. June 28, 2006

Harley-Davidson/Buell of  Frederick rider Bryan Bemisderfer survived an off-track excursion from the rain-soaked Virginia International Raceway and recovered to pass Veatch Motorsports rider Dave Estok on the last lap to win the American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) Thunderbike National, part of the Sixth Annual VIR Festival of Speed. Bemisderfer and Estok were both riding Buell Firebolt motorcycles. Arnold Hasting was a distant third on a Suzuki SV650.
 
Estok, the defending National Thunderbike champion, led qualifying for the race, posting a lap of 1:33.461 on the 2.25-mile VIR road course.

Veatch Motorsports rider Dave Estok rode a Buell Firebolt XB12R to set the pole position, lead every lap and win the American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) Thunderbike National at the Heartland Park Topeka road course. Ed Key finished second on a Suzuki, followed by Blue Springs H-D/Buell rider Walt Sipp, also aboard a Buell Firebolt.

Buell dealer teams competed in the AMA Formula Xtreme race at the AMA Superbike Championship event at the Road America course. Steve Crevier, riding a Buell XBRR for Deeley Harley-Davidson/Buell Canada, ran as high as seventh position before ultimately crashing out of the race. XBRR Teams To Contest Road America Formula Xtreme June 2, 2006

Buell Motorcycle Company announced today that two race teams will enter Buell XBRRs in the Formula Xtreme class during Round 5 of the 2006 AMA Superbike Championship June 2-4 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis.

Buell Motorcycles Sweep ASRA Thunderbike Podium May 31, 2006

Bilansky, Bemisderfer and Estok Dominate at Summit Point ­ West Virginia’s Summit Point Raceway was the site of a dominating Memorial Day Weekend performance by Buell riders who swept the podium in the American SportBike Racing Association’s (ASRA) Thunderbike class. Hal’s H-D/Buell ­ Hal’s Speed Shop rider Dan Bilansky took the victory on Monday from pole position, with Harley-Davidson/Buell of Frederick’s Bryan Bemisderfer and Veatch Motorsports rider Dave Estok filling the final steps on the podium.

Bilansky took the ASRA Thunderbike Pole on Sunday with a 1:18.865, followed by Bemisderfer with a 1:19.274 and defending 2005 National Thunderbike Champion Estok’s 1:19.325. …

Buell Riders Adventure Group Celebrates Homecoming June 2-4, 2006 ­ Buell Riders Adventure Group (BRAG) will host its annual Homecoming Rally in East Troy, Wis., June 2-4, 2006. Buell motorcycle owners will travel from all over the country to enjoy a weekend surrounded by other Buell enthusiasts.  

The weekend will kick off at Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell in New Berlin, Wis., with a breakfast from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet Hal’s Thunder Eagle Race Team and check out the NHRA Pro Stock Buell motorcycle that will be on display.

Formula Xtreme: Rain Dampens Buell XBRR Effort At Infineon May 24, 2006

Jeremy McWilliams, riding a Buell XBRR for the combined Warr’s of London Harley-Davidson/Buell (Great Britain) and Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell (New Berlin, Wis.) teams, qualified 11th for the Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme event at the 2006 AMA Superbike Championship at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. McWilliams moved up and was closing on 7th position before retiring with an ignition problem on lap 10 of the 17-lap Formula Xtreme national.

Buell XBRR Returns To Formula Xtreme Action At Infineon May 16, 2006

Buell Motorcycle Company announced today that a joint dealer-sponsored race team will enter their Buell XBRR in the Formula Xtreme class during Round 4 of the 2006 AMA Superbike Championship May 19-21 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA.

Warr’s of London Harley-Davidson/Buell (Great Britain) and Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell ( New Berlin, WI), which fielded separate entries in the Daytona 200 season opener in February, will team up to enter a single XBRR with Irish MotoGP star Jeremy McWilliams aboard. McWilliams qualified 8th aboard an XBRR at the Daytona 200 before a mechanical problem forced an early retirement.

Buell XBRR Production Begins May 6, 2006

Revised Components Developed to Improve Reliability ­ Buell Motorcycle Company announced today that the production of XBRR race bikes, based on the Firebolt XB12R, has begun. A total of 50 XBRRs will be built in the production run.

Buell announced last month that XBRR production had been delayed as engineers analyzed and refined components based on what was learned from the XBRR’s AMA Formula Xtreme racing debut at the Daytona 200 in March.
