Rally: KTM Previews Rally Di Sardegna May 6, 2006

In 2006 Rally di Sardegna will celebrate the 20th edition. A very important event, in fact it will be for the first time valuable for the World Championship raid T.T. The first edition was held in 1984 on a zigzag route from Olbia to Cagliari passing through Alghero, Cala Gonone, Villasimius, Chia, crossing the whole Sardinia passing through the inaccessible paths through the mountains. The winner was Andrea Balestrieri, riding Aprilia.

Rally: Isidre Esteve Wins Optic 2000 Rally April 18, 2006

Stéphane Peterhansel (Mitsubishi Pajero), in the cars and Isidre Esteve (KTM Gauloises), in the bikes, won today the 25th Optic 2000 Tunisian rally. At the end of this weeks racing, Peterhansel notched up his fifth win on Tunisian soil (his third in a car), in front of the South African Giniel De Villiers (VW racing TOUAREG 2) and Jean-Louis Schlesser (Buggy Ford). The Spanish Isidre Esteve takes home his first Tunisian win, finally getting the better of his team mate David Casteu and the Norwegian Pal Anders Ullevalseter (KTM LC4).

Rally: Casteau Overall Leader After Second To Last Stage In Tunisia April 17, 2006

On this second to last stage, of this 25th Optic 2000 Tunisia 2006 rally, the loop around and about the oasis of Ksar Ghilaine was the chance for Stéphane Peterhansel (Mitsubishi Pajero) to increase his lead in the overall placings. On the eve of the finish at Djerba, the Mitsubishi driver, winner of this very physically demanding stage, finds himself at nearly nine minutes in front of the VW racing TOUAREG 2 of Giniel De Villiers and nearly a quarter of an hour in front of Jean-Louis Schlesser. Rally: Optic 2000 Tunesia Stage 3, Going Down South April 13, 2006

Accompanied by the rain and an unusual freshness, not at all normal for this time of year, Giniel De Villiers (VW racing TOUAREG 2) achieved his first stage win of this 25th Optic 2000 Tunisian rally. With the end of this 3rd stage full of changes, the South African, now in second place behind Peterhansel (Mitsubishi Pajero), has won the ‘dubious’ privilege of going first on tomorrow’s El Borma loop. On the bikes, the day’s victory goes to the Norwegian Pal Anders Ullevalster(KTM), whilst David Casteu (KTM Gauloises) slips in front of his team mate in the rankings.
