BSB: New Layout For Mallory BSB

Rizla Suzuki’s James Haydon and Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne will race at a revised Mallory Park circuit featuring a new chicane for the first time when the Bennetts British Superbike Championship visits the Leicestershire track for the sixth round this weekend.

The chicane has been placed approximately half way round the famous Gerard’s 180 degree corner in a bid to slow the Superbikes down to improve safety. It means the circuit is now 1.41-miles long and a new lap record will be established during the races.

James Haydon:
“There will be a few new twists and turns for us at Mallory Park this weekend …

MotoGP: Camel Yamaha Previews Grand Prix Home Round Mugello

The Camel Yamaha Team heads into its home Grand Prix this weekend looking to turn a stuttering start to the season into a consistent challenge for MotoGP World Championship honours. The fast and flowing Mugello circuit in Italy presents an entirely different challenge to the tight complexities of recent tracks such as Le Mans and Shanghai and both Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards hope it can also deliver a similar contrast in the fortunes that have followed them around the world during a dramatic opening five rounds of the campaign. Rossi, in particular, is keen to get his fifth title …

MotoGP: Nakano And Kawasaki Bring MotoGP Back To Spa

The Spa Francorchamps circuit in the Belgian Ardennes reverberated to the sound of a factory Grand Prix race bike for the first time in 16 years on Thursday, as Shinya Nakano put the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR through its paces, watched by Kawasaki riders from Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg.

The demonstration ride by Nakano was part of an event organised by Kawasaki Benelux, at which Kawasaki owners were given the opportunity to ride the 6.9 km Spa Francorchamps circuit, described by none other than Michael Schumacher as “without doubt the best circuit in the world.”

Originally designed by Jules de Their and Henri …

Coolbeth Earns Podium Finish For Screamin’ Eagle At Springfield

Kenny Coolbeth is perfectly fine not having all the information about what happened during Sunday’s season opening AMA Grand National Twins event at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. There were several crashes. Red flags stopped the race twice. Coolbeth didn’t see any of it and that’s just how he likes it.

Coolbeth rode his Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle entry to third place while factory teammate Rich King finished sixth after a crash and Wrecking Crew teammates Jared Mees and Bryan Smith finished eighth and 11th, respectively.

“I didn’t see any of the crashes,” Coolbeth, a Connecticut native said. “I was riding up front, in …

SBK: Walker Leads Race Two For Kawasaki Corse

Chris Walker used obvious his pace at his local circuit to score sixth and eighth places in the 28-lap Silverstone races, but ran confidently in the lead for a time during race two, slowly dropping through the field as other riders picked up places.

It was a more disappointing weekend of work for the other team riders, with Regis Laconi struggling against chatter in race two, after scoring a fine seventh in race one.

The luckless Fonsi Nieto was taken out in the first race, in a four-rider spill, and in the race restart he felt dizzy, having bashed his head hard …
