Bemisderfer snags Thunderbike Win at rain-soaked V.I.R. June 28, 2006
Harley-Davidson/Buell of Frederick rider Bryan Bemisderfer survived an off-track excursion from the rain-soaked Virginia International Raceway and recovered to pass Veatch Motorsports rider Dave Estok on the last lap to win the American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) Thunderbike National, part of the Sixth Annual VIR Festival of Speed. Bemisderfer and Estok were both riding Buell Firebolt motorcycles. Arnold Hasting was a distant third on a Suzuki SV650.
Estok, the defending National Thunderbike champion, led qualifying for the race, posting a lap of 1:33.461 on the 2.25-mile VIR road course.

RIZLA SUZUKI’S James Haydon had the cast changed on his broken left foot this morning and is in a positive mood as he continues to recover from the crash he suffered during the second race at Snetterton on June 18th.
An MRI scan in a London hospital last week revealed that James broke two metatarsal bones into nine pieces in his left foot during the high-speed crash at the end of the kilometer long Revett Straight at Snetterton. He also tore a ligament in his knee and has considerable muscle damage to his left shoulder.

MotoGP: Tough Assen TT for Ducati
Ducati Marlboro Team riders Loris Capirossi and Alex Hofmann endured a difficult Dutch TT today, Capirossi finishing 15th while suffering badly from recent injuries, Hofmann taking a 12th-place finish in his first race on the Desmosedici GP6 after just two days of practice.
