Endurance: Teams And Riders Update March 30, 2006

No Limits & RT Show Improvement at Albacete Tests - Steve Mizera Switches from Kawasaki to Honda - Assen and Le Mans Numbers Game…

No Limits at Albacete

No Limits & RT Racing Team Suzuki had a successful time at the recent Dunlop Albacete pre-season test sessions. All their riders recorded better times than last year despite not having ridden the endurance bike since the final round of the 2005 season last September.

The team have also renewed their collaboration with sponsor HPE. As a result, developments over the winter have resulted in 1.5kg of weight being saved through the use of titanium components and extra horsepower being developed by their GSX-R1000 motor. Lap times were improved by over 1 second compared to last year’s qualifying.

The team’s final test before Assen will be the pre-Le Mans sessions on the 4th and 5th of April. More information on the team’s websites at www.nolimits44.com

Steve Mizera to RMT 21 Racing Honda

Former Kawasaki Diablo rider Steve Mizera will ride for German team RMT21 Racing Honda this year. It will be interesting to hear from Steve how RMT21’s CBR1000RR Fireblade compares the Kawasaki ZX10R that he rode last year.

Assen and Le Mans Numbers Game

To avoid potential confusion in the championship standings, it has been agreed that Eurosport Benelux will run with the race number 118 at the Assen 500, and the Sapeurs Pompiers team will use race number 18 at the Le Mans 24 Hour race. If only the race number allocation for the Suzuka 8 hour was this simple to sort out.
