Moto GP: Yamaha Factory Racing and Camel end MotoGP partnership December 3, 2006
Four intense years of sportsmanship in which the yellow livery of Camel was an unmistakable presence on the track and a symbol of success: 11 victories and 23 podiums. Camel is leaving international motorsport and its sponsorship of the Moto GP, which started in 2003 and ended with the very special year with Yamaha that has just come to a close.
Working with a great Japanese motorcycle manufacturer like Yamaha and with the World Championship organizer Dorna has been a privilege for the Camel team. Camel would like to thank all those with whom they have shared this passion and these successes. Camel’s most sincere thanks go to Yamaha for its professionalism in the partnership, to all the riders who have flown their colors on circuits around the world, and to all their fans.
Following Camel’s recent announcement, Yamaha Factory Racing would like to express its thanks to Camel and Japan Tobacco International for their partnership and support over the 2006 Moto GP season.
Yamaha’s thanks go out to all those involved in the project; they have formed an important part of Yamaha’s team over the past year.
It has been a great honour for Yamaha to work with such an experienced sponsor and Camel’s enthusiasm throughout the season has been greatly appreciated by the entire Yamaha Factory Racing Team and the Yamaha Motor Group.
