MotoGP: Virgin Mobile Cup Racers get ready for the international stage June 28, 2006

The Virgin Mobile Cup class of 2006 travel to Donington Park this weekend to race as a support class to the British round of the Moto GP at Donington Park.

The 20 young riders aged between 16-22 years will be rubbing shoulders with Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards and the cream of world motor racing talent as they line up on the grid for two races over the weekend.

Whoever wins the races will not be awarded points as the Moto GP event is not part of the Virgin Mobile Cup championship. Instead the youngsters will be competing to win one of a fantastic line up of prizes including; brand new Team scooter, Dunlop tyres and many more great prizes!

The weekend at Donington always attracts a big crowd and it is a fantastic high profile stage for the young Virgin Mobile Cup riders.

Series Organiser Rob Mac said: “The Moto GP weekend is always great for these young guys. They get the chance to race in the tyre tracks of some of the living legends of motor racing - Rossi and co, and I know they are all very excited and can’t wait. At the same time, I bet some of them are nervous to be racing in front of what is the biggest crowd of their young lives, both at the track and beamed around the world to homes all over the globe. It is the second time they have all raced here this season and there is no pressure on them to win points.”
