RC161 One Of Most Valuable Bikes At $300,000+ May 6, 2006

With an estimated worth of over $300,000, Honda’s 1960 road racer, the RC161, is one of the most valuable motorcycles in the country. The legendary bike will be on display Saturday, June 3, at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum as part of the Museum’s first annual Japanese Motorcycle Saturday event, sponsored by the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club.

The Honda RC161 earned its impressive pedigree by bringing Honda the company’s first taste of resounding racing success on U.S. soil.   But, while the rarest motorcycle on the museum’s 23-acre grounds on Saturday, June 3 will undoubtedly be the RC161, many other marques will be on display for visitors to enjoy. Owners of all Japanese brands are invited to bring their favorite ride for display in The Japanese Bike Chronicles, an un-judged bike show. Seminars and a swap meet provide further entertainment for motorcycle enthusiasts. Admission is only $10 and includes access to all museum exhibits, including Motocross America, the expansive and colorful story of the country’s original action sport.
