Supermoto: Husqvarna’s Ivan Lazzarini takes Silver Medal in Supermoto World Championship November 8, 2006

The 2006 Supermoto World Championship closed the games on the Athens track, in Greece. Factory Husqvarna team rider Ivan Lazzarini got the second final place in the S1 class.

Ivan preceeded in the classification teammate and World Champion 2005 Gerald Delepine thanks to his results gained in this GP. Lazzarini got the 5th and 3rd position in the two heats, conquering the third place on the podium as well. It wasn’t a good week end for Gerald Delepine: the Belgian rider, who gives his best on offraod tracks, was disadvantaged since no dirt part was built in the track.

Delepine, during race 1, slide and closed the race on 7th place, while in race 2 was 5th behind the new World Champion 2006 Bernd Hiemer. In S2 class, Adrien Chareyre succeeded in conquering the third position in the overall classification even thought he was not the main protagonist of the GP.

The French rider got the 9th and 6th place, results that anyway made the youngster conquer the third step of the podium.
The Chareyre brothers, Adrien and Thomas, will be riding for the Husqvarna Factory team in 2007.
