World Superbike SBK: Improvements despite Difficulties for Kawasaki Corse June 28, 2007
It has been a quite difficult situation during these 2 days of test in Brno for the Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team. The rain of the first day, Tuesday 26,permitted the team to start only in the late morning when the track dried and they could push their ZX10-R reaching 2′03.2 Regis Laconi and 2′03.6 Fonsi Nieto. Unfortunately after the rain instead of the sun came the wind and this has inevitably prejudiced their pace.
Yesterday the two riders focused on the suspensions trying all the adjustments they studied for these tests and today they concentrated on new geometrical schedules on the chassis. Even if still with some problems these two days of work gave positive results for the team, results that can be improved in the next test in Vallelunga before the round in the Czech Republic.
REGIS LACONI:
“Yesterday the bike didn’t show any chattering problems maybe even because the track is very linear and I thought that we solved that problem, but today using soft tyre the chattering came back even if less accentuated. Nevertheless we made some improvements lowing the times of almost one second with Pirelli Evolution tyre which will be used for the Brno round”.
FONSI NIETO:
“Yesterday it didn’ t go so well even if the work we did on the suspensions has been very important. Today we worked on different geometrical schedules on the chassis. We didn’ t solve all the problems but I’m quite satisfied because at the end of these tests we tried lots of different solutions and putting all together we obtained positive improvements. Now we will focus on Vallelunga test to make new improvements”.
