World Superbike SBK: Sweet and Sour Result for Kawasaki Corse July 25, 2007
The Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team goes home quite satisfied from the Czech land. Even with some technical problems both Fonsi Nieto and Regis Laconi conquered important points trying to get the best from a day difficult to interpretate. Positive performance of Vittorio Iannuzzo who has been able to finish both the races even if with some chattering problems, taking home some points.
FONSI NIETO:
” Today we have been annoyed from electrical problems. In race 1 I realized that there was something wrong with the bike and after 4 laps I went back into the box. In race 2 we changed the engine and we strictly checked everything but the problem appeared again making me not able to do a good start. Then things started to go better and I tried to push harder. The 8th position is anyway a good result but I wanted something more on this track where I really could do very well”.
REGIS LACONI:
” I didn’t start well in race 1 and it has been difficult to reduce the gap. At the middle of the race the rear tyre hadn’t grip anymore and I risked to crash; beside I have been lucky not to fall down when Muggeridge hit me. In race 2 I tried to take advantage of the wet conditions and I took some risks to reach a good position from the beginning. But I had no grip in the last laps and it has been extremely hard to stand on the bike”.
VITTORIO IANNUZZO:
” Take home two good placements is a good result even if I was expecting something more. In race 1 the bike started to suffer some chattering after some laps and my only goal was to finish the race without taking any risk. In race 2 we still had the same problem but the race pace was better. My satisfaction has been to finish the race behind a rider of a certain weight as Regis”.
